New direction?_

Been having a chat with clyde and after discussing the work/how the way the show is going to look, it doesnt really reflect what my FMP outcome is, being a book..

The fact that its a book kind of gets lost as there is no major element of the book within the show piece, apart from a couple of static spreads.

So the new idea is to have every spread from my book shown on the left hand wall. They will all be to the book scale and in order. So you follow it across like a story.

On the right hand side im thinking of having a mac floated on the wall with my animation/ live feed and then getting some quotes cut in vinyl from my little quote book. These can then be vinyld straight onto the wall.

This then has 3 different types of media within it, the printwork of the book, some sort of moving animation and some cut vinyl.

Quite like this idea.

Frame update_

Mocked up some of the artwork to go in the frames, So this is pretty similar to how i want my show pieces to look. Some of the top frames i might change.

The smallest frames will hold pages of hand written quotes from my quote book.

SHOW PLAN_

Me and Becky have been talking about the spaces and I think we agreed on Becky having the big wall space.

In place i suggested to have the space becky was in originally. This would involve moving Robs piece, just wanted to get your responses and see what you think.

These arent finals, they're just rough mock ups to show my thinking.

The frames are all roughly to the right scale.

Below is an outlined version, the right hand side will have a boxed mac on a similar looking high boxed table.

I have been looking at ways to present my work for the final hand in.

I went out and bought a thick card box to present all my work in, As it is rather small I wanted some small sketchbooks to fit inside it... SO

I have 4-5 mini sketchbooks which are going to include ;

6x4 photographs

It will also house my final printed book inside.

I have been looking into ways i can present the box, I intend to get some burgundy spray paint and colour the box so it isnt in the obvious pre-bought brown card.

I am getting some vinyl lettering cut to stick ontop of the box and on each of the sketchbooks, as shown below.

LIVE WEBCAM_

I have just been researching into the possibilities of a live webcam feed as part of my show piece.

Been having a research, and there a few programmes that i MIGHT be able to use, Its just figuring out whether i can fullscreen the webcam page.

My friend is willing to set me a computer up back in longbridge and have the webcam running as and when needed.

Think it could be a nice adition to the piece.

I would set this inside a wooden box to cover up the outside and frame of the screen.

SHOW PLANNING_

Just a few ideas for how to lay out my show pieces in london. My initial ideas are to get one of my photos blown up huge in photocopy form, so i can then paste it over a section of the wall. I then intend to buy some blank frames, in which i am going to frame some of my artwork/photos and little trinkets. This will all be in colour to contrast from the greyscale backdrop.

Havent decided where i like my Longbridge text yet. This will be a vinyl cut which i will stick to the chosen surface.

These are the frames i have been looking at, from ikea, Ideally i want the white frame (which isnt shown here) Black could work aswell.
